Introducing our tutors...
Hi there, my name is Tom and I play Acoustic and Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar, Drums, Piano/Keyboard, Double Bass and I sing. When I was 11 years old I picked up my Uncle’s first guitar. The first thing I did was drop it on my foot and break my toe, but that’s when it hit me, (if you’ll excuse the pun) I knew music was just the thing for me, and since then I’ve had a huge passion for all things music.
Since then I picked up other instruments along the way while playing in many bands during my teenage years. I got my Diploma and my Degree in music and am still active in playing live music with functions/covers bands and backing some original UK artists. I’m a huge believer that Music should be fun and also become an important tool for people to express themselves.
Hey! I’m Mitchel, your friendly neighbourhood drummer! I’ve been playing music for around 10 years, my first instrument was the biggest, loudest drum kit I could lay my hands on. I’ve played in bands since day one and still play live music with covers and original artists, from playing my local pub to rocking out at the legendary Isle of Wight festival. Since I started music I've picked up other instruments such as guitar, bass guitar, and piano.
I have met most of my best friends through playing music, made the most incredible memories, and have been inspired so much by music. It’s my goal to help other people enjoy it as much as I do!
All about Blueberry Music -
the people behind it and what we believe in.
We all started off with music lessons in school, typical boring sessions that revolved around learning exercises, not knowing what they’re for, why we were learning them, or even how to use them.
Our tutors at Blueberry Music have studied music since school, through college and university, finishing with a Bachelors of Arts Degree with Honours in Music. We are all DBS/CRB Checked and proud members of the Musicians’ Union.
If there’s anything we learned while studying for our degrees, it’s that no musician is the same! We learned that usually, musicians are:
Someone that learns music by ear, by touch, watching others play, or by the old school ‘trial and error’
A musician who leans more towards sheet music and an ‘academic’ way of learning
Someone that uses music purely to express emotion and feeling, usually more of the ‘creative’ type
Any of these sound like you? Or even someone you know? At Blueberry Music, our passion is to create a new generation of musicians that can tick all of the above!
